The new year started with a big change in our organization: We have elected a new board. Timon Elliger takes over the 1st chair from Markus Eckstein. Timon is studying industrial engineering in his master's degree with a focus on design and development at RWTH Aachen University and helped develop the electric motor for the Covestro Sonnenwagen. He joined the team in December 2017 and knows what it takes to get the next Sonnenwagen on the road.

Simon Quinker has taken over the 2nd chair from Severin Kobus. In addition to his board position, Simon will also manages the marketing department. Through his gained experience in the Sonnenwagen team, he knows which factors are important in this area. He is studying industrial engineering with a focus on mechanical engineering and has been a member of the team since December 2017.

Jennifer Machura is our treasurer again this year. She studies industrial engineering with a specialization in electrical engineering and also manages the sponsoring department at Sonnenwagen. She has the financial overview in the team and can fall back on a large repertoire of experience from the last years.

A brand new position is that of technical manager. To ensure that our development teams have their backs free, Kersten Heckmann has taken on this position. He is doing his master's degree in development and design and is responsible for the synergy between the technical departments. With his experience from last season, nothing stands in the way of the development of the third Sonnenwagen.
