The adventure goes into a new round!

Finally we are off! After more than two years of design and manufacturing work, the first part of our team has arrived in Australia. After our first participation in 2017, we are thus back again to compete with a new team and an even newer vehicle in the Outback.

After the jet lag was overcome, we took delivery in Adelaide of our Covestro Sonnenwagen, which had also arrived in Australia by plane, and our sea container with our trailer and materials for the workshop. We then left Adelaide and headed straight back north to pitch our tents in Nuriootpa.

In the beautiful Barossa Valley, Stephen and Anette welcomed us and provided us with a huge hall to work on our car, in which we immediately made ourselves at home. Thereby we also found a new team member: The nine-week-old puppy Leo was directly chosen as team mascot and kept us from working from now on. Nevertheless, we worked hard to remove brakes, work on batteries and prepare everything for the upcoming testing phase.

So the days passed between vineyards and tents and soon it was time to say goodbye again to continue our journey to Darwin. On our last evening Stephen and Anette invited us to a dinner at the campfire. We enjoyed a glass of wine and let our time in Nuriootpa come to an end, in order to start the next day with full energy to Coober Pedy. There we will put the Covestro Sonnenwagen through its paces in the outback and gain many a kilometer of experience while testing it.

See you then and hooroo!
